
Cobos, Trio of Doubles Teams in Championship Round at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - A 2-0 start by Andres Cobos has the senior still active in the championship section of his flight, while the doubles teams of Gerard Guell and Martin Muadi, Tom Sizeland and Karl Wangensten-Oye, and Cobos and Daniel Cardenas are still going in the doubles championship flights.
Cobos opened the tournament with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Sharfill Nawghre of Youngstown State before topping Xavier's Matt Bishop by a 3-6, 6-3 score, advancing with Bishop's retirement in the match. Cobos will face off against Jeff Brown of Louisville on Saturday morning in the quarterfinal round of the draw.
Guell and Muadi opened the doubles tournament with an 8-4 win over the pair of Carman and Stefani from Xavier, before beating Lugonjic and McCoy of Indiana by an 8-3 score. The pair will face off against Youngstown State's pair of Chancerel and Mistreanu of Youngstown State on Saturday. Cobos and Cardenas also took their opening match by an 8-4 score over Kabli and Tolsani of Youngstown State, and will take on Illinois State's Eisner and Torrellas on Saturday in the semifinals.
Wangensten-Oye went 1-1 on his opening day, falling 7-6, 6-0 to Louisville's Santiago Salazar, before returning for a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 win in the back draw over Josh Maylon of Dayton.,Also splitting his matches on the opening day of the tournament, Cardenas won 6-2, 6-3 over Arthur Stefani of Xavier, before falling to the Citadel's Artemie Amare by a 6-4, 6-3 score.,
