Gerard Guell Named Academic All-District

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - IPFW sophomore Gerard Guell has been named to the At-Large CoSida Academic All-District squad, announced on Thursday (May 15) afternoon.
Guell, who has a perfect 4.0 grade point average in civil engineering, went 27-10 in singles during the year, including 13-1 at No. 3. He also went 17-11 in doubles competition, primarily with Martin Muadi at No. 2 pairs, where the duo went 15-7 in the spring.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average. Nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games. Sports eligible for an at-large Academic Team selection include women's bowling, women's crew, men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo,and men's wrestling.
