Men's Tennis Falls in Battle for Regular Season Title

DENVER - The IPFW men's tennis team fell 6-1 to the Denver Pioneers in a battle of the two remaining teams with an undefeated Summit League record.
IPFW (18-8, 4-1 Summit) earns the second seed for the 2014 Summit League Tournament, scheduled for 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 26.
The Pioneers took the first two completed doubles matches, winning 8-5 over the IPFW No. 1 pair of Daniel Kang and Andres Cobos, before Karl Wangensten-Oye and Connor Andrews fell 8-4 at No. 3 pairs. The teams competing at No. 2 pairs had their match halted with the Mastodons leading 6-4.
In singles, Martin Muadi was the lone Mastodon to pick up a win, as the junior was victorious by a 7-5, 3-2 score before his opponent conceded victory. At No. 1 singles, IPFW's Daniel Kang and Denver's Henry Craig battled into a third set, before Craig narrowly prevailed 6-3, 6-7, 10-3. Andres Cobos and Denver's Alex Gasson also needed three sets, before the Pioneer No. 3 singles player pulled away in a 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 victory.
Jonathan Raa fell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, while Denver's Alex Clinkenbeard defeated Guell 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Karl Wangensten-Oye also fell by a 6-3, 6-1 score at No. 6 singles.
