Daniel Kang Wins Second Straight Player of the Week Honor

ELMHURST, Ill. - After beating the defending Summit League Player of the Year in straight sets, IPFW senior Daniel Kang has been named the Summit League Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Kang defeated Jason Jaruvang 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, helping the Mastodons to a 6-1 win over their in-state rival. Kang also paired with Cobos in doubles play to win 8-1.
Kang, the program's career wins record holder, is 17-9 on the year, including a 12-5 mark this spring at No. 1. In doubles he and Cobos are 17-9, and 11-6 in the spring season.
The team, now 12-5 ont he year, has tied the program record for wins in a season, and are a perfect 3-0 in Summit League action.
The Mastodons return to action on April 1 with a pair of matches against Valparaiso (3 p.m.) and Grace (6 p.m.), both of which will be played at the Pine Ridge Racquet and Fitness Club.
