FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Student-athletes from both the men's and women's tennis teams volunteered at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo to participate in the annual Wild Zoo Halloween program on Sunday, Oct. 21.
Players and coaches worked at candy stations passing out candy to all the kids, and two players from the men's tennis team worked as Zoo Mascots during the event.
“The team enjoyed dressing up in their costumes and helping the Zoo with this great event for kids,” said head coach Eric Burns.
For the past three years the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo has held its annual Halloween festivities. Communications director Cheryl Piropato expected between 10,000 – 15,000 people to visit the zoo over the holiday.
Kids could decorate a mini pumpkin to take home with them, there were stations handing out candy, and other areas provided bracelet-making stations.
