IPFW Honors Student-Athletes at the 2012 Awards Banquet

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Max Touloute of the men's soccer team and Courtney Cronin of the softball team were recognized as the Male and Female Athletes of the Year at the 2012 IPFW Awards Banquet held at the Marriot Marquis Ballroom.
Sunday night's event was emceed by the assistant athletic director of media services, Mr. Bill Salyer. The banquet honored members of every team, in addition to specific all-athletic awards.
The 2012 Senior Female Athlete of the Year was awarded to Anne Boese of the women's basketball team. Receiving the honor on the men's side was Roberto Cabrini of the tennis team.
Nate Shipman of the men's soccer team earned the Freshman Male Athlete of the Year award, while Emily Spencer of the volleyball team was recognized as the Freshman Female Athlete of the Year.
Seven IPFW student-athletes were recognized as David R. Skelton Award Nominees: Anne Boese from women's basketball, John Peckinpaugh from the men's basketball program, Kyle Ackerman from men's soccer, Cassie Wolfe from softball, Ashley Dillon from women's volleyball, and the duo of Lauren McCracken and Alaina Jones from the women's soccer team. The winner of the 2012 David R. Skelton Award went to Justine LeBlanc from the women's soccer program.
Alli Hook of the women's volleyball team was the recipient of the Student-Athlete Sportsmanship Award, and the volleyball program earned a team honor as they won the 2012 Mastodon Cup.
Alex Forsyth of the women's tennis program earned the Senior Academic Excellence Award with a 3.98 GPA. Max Touloute was recognized for the second time on Sunday night after earning the Rolland Award.
The IPFW Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) Service to Student-Athletes Award went to assistant athletic director for equipment and outdoor events, Amanda Tallman. The Tony Laux Volunteer of the Year award went to Heather Schuller, while the Fan of the Year was presented to Bill Daugherty.
The following student-athletes were selected to individual team honors by their respective coaches.
