Elmhurst, IL − With the first semester of the 2009-10 academic year in the books, The Summit League has announced its Academic All-League Teams for the fall season. A total of 511 Summit League student-athletes from men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and volleyball have been honored for their academic excellence. Western Illinois led the way with a league-best 63 selections to the Academic All-Summit League squad, edging out Oakland and IUPUI by one and two honorees, respectively. Centenary landed 52 student-athletes on the list with North Dakota State having 50 recipients. IPFW and Oral Roberts each secured 48 members to the team, narrowly ahead of South Dakota State's 47. UMKC (41 recipients) and Southern Utah (39 recipients) also had student-athletes recognized for their academic achievements. Of the 511 student-athletes that were honored, 70 posted perfect 4.00 grade-point averages during the fall semester. In order to be selected to the Academic All-Summit League Team, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better grade-point average in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility. ~Dons~
