Findlay Oiler Open Results

Findlay, OH - IPFW sophomore jumper Whitney Lane re-set her own school record in the triple jump on Saturday at the Findlay Oiler Open, one of a number of strong performances for IPFW in their season-opening event.

Lane leapt to a distance of 10.50, 11 centimeters further than her previous school record of 10.39. Classmate Katy Moore also nearly topped her own school record, leaping to a height of 1.58 meters in the high jump, just off of her record of 1.60 meters.

Three Mastodons competed in the shot put, led by Courtney Bowen, who placed 20th with a toss of 10.49, as Kierstyn Jones and Courtney Trout placed 29th and 37th, respectively, with tosses of 10.49 meters and 9.38 meters, each.

Theresa McHugh placed 25th in the long jump with a leap of 14-2.50, and 35th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 31.22.

The next meet for the Mastodons is on January 16, when the squad travels to Bowling Green, Ohio, to take part in the Bowling Green University Challenge Meet.
