She was named the Allen County High School Tennis Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006 and received All-State First Team honors from the IHSAA in 2006. In 2005 she was named to the All-State Second Team by the IHSAA.

In the Fort Wayne City Women's Open, Recht has been the singles champion in 2005 and 2006.

"We are very excited to sign a player of Amy's caliber." said Burns. "She is probably one of the biggest recruits we have landed in my time at IPFW. She is a great competitor and plays with a lot of heart on the court. She will make an immediate impact to our team and should help us as we work toward our goal of a conference championship and NCAA bid in 2008."
