Evansville, IN- Competing in one of two matches this weekend, the IPFW women's tennis team got off to a rough start, falling 4-3 in a close match to Evansville on Friday at the Tristate Tennis Complex.

The home team took the early lead after winning the match's doubles point and never looked back. The number one doubles team with Kate Chybowski and Theodora Kotsiou from Evansville were behind 7-4, but came back to defeat Amy Recht and Ingrid Ballus 9-8.

In the loss, IPFW managed three victories, all in the singles competition. Unfortunately for the 'Dons, Evansville's three singles wins of their own clinched the match.

Next up for the Mastodons is a non-conference contest against Bowling Green on Saturday. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m., instead of the scheduled 6:00 p.m.
