Lack of Hits Plague IPFW in Pair of Losses to Michigan State

East Lansing, MI-In a season ravaged by Mother Nature and incessantly hampered by injuries, the `Dons dropped another double header this afternoon to Big Ten competitor Michigan State.

In game one, the Spartans defeated the `Dons 12-0; the game was ended in the fifth inning by way of the run-rule. The loss went to pitcher Jenna Connelly who gave up twelve hits and four earned runs in four innings pitched while committing three errors as well.

Offensively, IPFW just couldn't find their stride, going hitless for the second time this season.

In game two, the `Dons went down 8-0 in the sixth.

Third baseman Michelle Meighen and left fielder Kayla Powell each connected for a single, IPFW's only hits of the afternoon.

Katie Aspegren took the loss in game two at Old College Field

Softball will return to the IPFW Softball Field on Friday April 20, in a rescheduled double header against Ball State set for 3:30 p.m.
