Dayton, OH-IPFW dropped a double header to the Raiders (11-14) this afternoon. The first game ended in the fifth inning with Wright State taking it 11-0. Game two proved just as tough with the 'Dons bowing out in the sixth, 10-2. In game one Wright State out-hit the 'Dons 12-1. Freshman standout Tara Mickelson singled in the fifth to earn IPFW's lone hit and break up a five-inning no-hitter by the Raiders' righty Jaime Perkins. The 'Dons also suffered defensively, committing four errors. IPFW pitcher Ashley Tharp took the loss to drop to 1-2 on the season. In game two IPFW got the bats going with five hits and cleaned it up defensively, commiting only one error, but it was not enough to hold off the Raiders who were able to knock in ten runs off of nine hits. Mickelson led IPFW hitting 2 for 3 and scoring both of the 'Dons unearned runs off of Wright State errors. Jil Price, Katy Stephens, and Kacie Stone each chipped in a hit as well. The game two loss put IPFW pitcher Katie Aspegren at 1-7 on the year. IPFW will attempt to get in their home opener tomorrow afternoon, weather permitting. The 'Dons are scheduled to take on Notre Dame College in a double header beginning at 3:00 p.m. ~Dons~
