2008: Was named to the Summit League All-Tournament Team...Member of Summit League Academic All-League Team...Dean's List Member both semesters...Led the team in doubles (10), and tied for the team lead in RBI's (26)...Finished second on the team with a .331 batting average and a .393 on-base percentage...Clubbed three home runs and 62 total bases, each third best on the squad...Also had a .982 fielding percentage, tops among the IPFW regulars...Recorded her first collegiate hit on March 7 against Holy Cross, going 2-for-4 in the game with a double...Drove in a pair of runs against Monmouth on March 12...Went 2-for-2 in the series finale against Western Illinois, going 3-for-5 against the Westerwinds in the two games...Drove in two runs while going 2-for-3 at the plate against Southern Utah on March 29...Hit a blistering .452 over the final 18 games of the season, going 28-of-62 at the plate with seven doubles, a home run and 19 runs batted in, and reaching base safely in 16 of those games...Started her hot stretch by going 2-for-4 against Valparaiso, before going 5-for-9 in the three-game series with IUPUI, including a 2-for-3, three run opener and a 3-for-4, two run finale...Hit a grand slam home run against Oakland on April 16...Drove in a pair of runs in the final against Cleveland State on April 22...Went 2-for-3 against Wright State on April 30...Had a 3-for-4 game with two runs batted in against Centenary on May 2...Went 2-for-4 against the Ladies of Centenary in the series finale...Had a stellar first day of the Summit League Championships, with back-to-back 4-for-5 days at the plate...The first stellar game came against Southern Utah, and the second against Centenary, where she scored three times, and drove in a career-high five runs...Following her IPFW season, Karpun continued to play, and was named an All-Star catcher at the 2008 Midget Girls Canadian Nationals...Played against Team Canada and Team Australia at the Canada Cup 2008. HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Sands Secondary School; however, did not play on the high school team...Member of Canadian travel team that captured the Provincial Championship in 2004, and the Canada Cup in 2005.
