Fort Wayne, IN - IPFW women's basketball coach Chris Paul has announced the signing of Anne Boese from Bishop Chatard in Indianapolis to a national letter of intent to play basketball at IPFW for the 2008-09 season.
In her junior season Boese, a 5-10 shooting guard, averaged 17.6 points, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals, 3.1 rebounds and 25.8 minutes per game. She was the team co-captain as they went 17-6 overall and were the sectional champion runner-up.
Boese and Bishop Chatard were the Rumble on the River Tournament champions and she was named to the All-Tournament Team. She received the Mental Attitude Award for Chartard basketball and was named to the 2007 All-City Girls Basketball First Team by the Indianapolis Girls City Basketball Coaches Association.
She was one of 100 girls basketball players picked to participate in July 2007 Indiana High School Girls Basketball Showcase. Boese was also named to the All-North Girls Basketball Team-Second Team by the Indianapolis Star.
Of the court Boese has excelled. She has a 3.87 GPA and has received First Honors. She is a member of the National Honor Society and St. Luke Catholic Church Youth Ministry. Boese participated on the Model United Nations during her junior year.
"We are thrilled to have Anne join our basketball team for the 2008-09 season." said Paul. "Not only is she an excellent basketball player, but she is an excellent student as well. She comes from a winning program at Bishop Chatard, and is the type of overall person we are looking for with our basketball program here at IPFW."
