Fort Wayne, IN - Because of the immense success of the last two Pink Out events, the IPFW women's basketball team will be hosting their third annual Pink Out on February 6, at 1:30 PM against Centenary College at the Memorial Coliseum, to help raise funds for breast cancer awareness and the search for a cure.

The teams will wear special "Pink Out" shooting shirts, and the Mastodon team will wear pink shoes for the event.

Fans will be encouraged to wear pink for the game in honor of the survivors of the disease. IPFW will be donating $1 from every ticket sold to go towards breast cancer research. This year, all of the proceeds will benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, which has helped raise over $8.5 million, including $1.75 million in 2008 alone, to fund endowments to the IU School of Medicine to support the Vera Bradley Chair in Oncology, and established the Vera Bradley Center for Breast Cancer Research.

The game is the first contest of a women's/men's double header, with both contests coming against Summit League opponent Centenary, and the men's game is tentatively scheduled to start at 4:00 PM.

Over the two previous events by women's basketball, and the two women's volleyball "Pink Outs", IPFW has been able to donate over $12,000 to the cause.
