Brookings, SD -IPFW senior Ashley Ritchey has been named Co-Independent Runner of the week in voting conducted by Division I Independent Cross Country Coaches.

Ritchey (Leo, IN/Leo) broke the meet record at the Dayton Flyer 5K this past weekend with a time of 18:10. That first place time crushed the previous mark of 18:22. On the heels of Ritchey's performance, IPFW was able take their first title of the season.

She shares the weekly award with Becka Mansheim of South Dakota State University who won the SDSU 5K.

IPFW will return to action tomorrow, competing in the Valparaiso Crusader Invitational.
