2007 MIVA All-Academic Release
Columbus, OH - IPFW senior setter Colin Lundeen has been named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Player of the week for the final week of the MIVA season. Lundeen's performance in last week's MIVA Conference Tournament championship 3-0 win over Ohio State garnered him Most Valuable Player Honors. Lundeen kept No. 6 and top-seeded Ohio State off balance the whole night by mixing up the offense from side-to-side and attacking from his setter's position when he found an opening. He posted 36 assists, six kills, six digs, a service ace, and had a solo block against the Buckeyes. For the week, he averaged 12.50 assists, 2.67 digs, 1.00 blocks, and 1.17 kills per game. Lundeen is the third Mastodon this season to be named conference player of the week. He was also named to the All-MIVA First Team, and MIVA All-Academic Team. IPFW, as a team placed 11 players on the All-Academic Team. Along with Lundeen the following Mastodons made the grade: Graydon Ainsworth IPFW has moved up to seventh in the CSTV/AVCA Top 15 Rankings. They will face Top-seeded Pepperdine in the opening match of the 2007 NCAA Men's Volleyball Championships on Thursday at 5:00pm. That match can be seen live on ESPN2. The winner of the IPFW-Pepperdine match will advance to the NCAA Championship match and face the winner of UC-Irvine-Penn State semi-final, on Saturday night in Columbus, Ohio. ~Dons~
