Columbus, OH - IPFW senior opposite Jason Yhost has been named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Player of the week for his outstanding play last week. Yhost put down a career-high 29 kills against #1 BYU at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center on Friday night. He also had 11 digs in the match for a double-double. The next night in Erie, Pennsylvania, Yhost led IPFW with 17 kills in a 3-0 win over Mercyhurst. Yhost hit .762 in that match. For the week, the San Diego, California native averaged 6.75 kills and 1.71 digs a game. He also fired off four service aces in the two matches. It is the first MIVA Player of the week award for Yhost. IPFW sits at 1-2, 1-1 MIVA coming into this weekend's non-conference matches. The Mastodons will host #12 George Mason on Friday night and Rutgers-Newark on Saturday night. Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Gates Center. ~Dons~
