2008 Oliver Kook is the leading point scorer from a year ago. Kook totalled 150 kills last season including a career high 12 on two occasions at George Mason on 3/29 and vs. Saint Francis 4/11. He also had 10 kills at Loyola on 4/18 in the season finale tournament match. Kook had five or more kills on 17 occasions during the `08 season. Attacked to a .351 success rate (second highest on last year's team with at least 25 kills. He also successfully executed .901 percent of his serves. Led returning players in blocks and block assists with nine and 78 respectively. Was the second-best blocker only behind senior Josh Stewart (120). Attacked better than .400 on nine occasions, .500 on six occasions, and better than .600 on five occasions. Arguably Kook's most efficient offensive match of his young career came on 2/15 when he went 9-13 (.692) at Lewis. Also tallied at least one total block in each of 26 matches played, including recording at least one solo block on seven different occasions. Before Coming to IPFW Oliver Kook is a 2005 graduate of Gymnasium Heidberg. His high school did not sponsor volleyball as an interscholastic sport so he picked up his experience playing club volleyball. Played for both the Norderstedt and Oststeinbeker SV volleyball clubs, advancing from Germany's second division to the first. Kook was named MVP at the state championship in Hamburg in 2004. Personal Oliver is the son Guenther and Martina Kook. He has one brother, Tobias. Majoring in organizational leadership and supervision. |
