Kuschke Competes in Doubles and Singles at Games



Kuschke competes for Namibia at World University Games.

Bangkok, Thailand - Hermann Kuschke competed in men's doubles and singles and mixed doubles at the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand over the weekend.

In men's singles, Kuschke had a first round bye and competed against Ireland's Colin O'Brien on Friday. O'Brien won, 6-2, 6-0, sending Kuschke to the consolation draw. In consolation, he is set to play Krisko Tullus of Estonia  at 11 AM today. The winner of that match will face Dean Kibirige of Uganda at 1 PM Bangkok time today.

In men's doubles, Kuschke and Verburg defeated Estonia's Aksim and Tullus 6-1, 7-6(2) on August 11th. In the third round, Kuschke and Verburg faced Australia's Bobusic and Hensel on Sunday, August 12th. The Australians' proved victorious, 6-1, 6-2.

In mixed doubles, Kuschke paired with Elrien De Villiers of Loyola Marymount. Serbia's Corovic and Grubin defeated Kuschke and De Villiers 6-3, 6-3 on August 11th.

All matches were played at the National Tennis Development Center.
