Fort Wayne, IN - IPFW junior Hartley Mcleod came from behind to take the Fort Wayne City Championship on Monday at Orchard Ridge Country Club.

Mcleod finished the back nine with five birdies to finish the third round 5 under. Overall he finished nine under to take a two stroke lead for the win.

Mcleod wrapped up the tournament with a 54 hole score of 205.

The first round was played at Brookwood Golf Club, Mcleod's home course. He posted a 70, two under par. Rounds two and three were played at Orchard Ridge Country Club where Mcleod posted a 69 (2 under) and 66 (5 under).

Mcleod edged Sam Till Jr., a four-time champion of the event.

This season will be Mcleod's first season of play at IPFW. He sat out last season as required after transferring from Florida Gulf Coast University.

"I am extremely proud of Hartley for his play in the Fort Wayne City Tournament." said Head Coach Jeff Marsh. "Hartley has played well all summer long and been very consistent from tournament to tournament. Anytime you win it's very exciting but this win for Hartley was even more special in that he came from behind to win and it was in his hometown. I am very excited to have Hartley on our team for two more years, he'll be a big asset to our program."

Fellow Mastodons Patrick Kelley, Andy Campbell, and Jon Balyeat competed in the tournament. Kelley finished tied for 9th while Balyeat and Campbell were tied for 23rd.
