Johnson Named Summit League Player of the Week



IPFW's Demetrius Johnson named Summit League POW.

Elmhurst, IL - IPFW senior point guard Demetrius Johnson has been named the Summit League Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Johnson earns Player of the Week honors after registering the first triple-double in IPFW history and leading the Mastodons to a perfect 2-0 record in Summit League play last week. The senior finished with 14 points and 10 assists in a win over Southern Utah and followed that up with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists in a victory over UMKC. For the week, he averaged 15.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 11.0 assists while shooting 56 percent from the field, 67 percent from three-point range and 73 percent from the free throw line. The Cleveland, Ohio, native has dished out 10 or more assists in each of the last three games.
