2006 Season
Venvertloh did a solid job of replacing Baltimore Orioles farm-hand Ryan Steinbach at shortstop for IPFW.
"V-Low" started 46 of the 48 games in which he played. Was 44-141 (.312) with three doubles and 20 RBI. Was second on the team in walks with 24. Scored three times twice in 2006 (3/3 vs. Villanova and 4/28 vs. Grace). Had five three-hit games. Drove in two runs in five separate contests. Helped turn 23 of IPFW's 35 infield double-plays.
Before coming to IPFW
Transferred to IPFW after two seasons at Springfield College. Played a bit at First Base his freshman campaign, but used mostly as a middle infielder for Head Coach Tom Torricelli last season. Was team captain. According to Torricelli "Chris is the hardest working player I have ever coached. I don't give out freely this compliment." Played his high school ball at Sacred Heart-Griffin. Named Central State 8 All-Conference. Also an All-Conference Academic selection.
