2006 Season
Nichting played in 43 of IPFW's 49 games in 2006, starting 25. He hit .296 with seven doubles and 16 RBI. Valuable utility player, Nichting saw time at a number of positions. Was solid behind the plate. Threw out five of the eight would-be base-stealers who tested his arm. Committed just a single error. Had a season-high four hits vs. Chicago State on 4/15. In that same game he had a pair of doubles and drove in three-runs. Registered a season-high three assists at Wofford on 3/18. Scored a season-high three times vs. Holy Cross on 3/7.
Before coming to IPFW
Transferred the 'Dons after two seasons at Wabash Valley College, where he was named All-Conference. Caught at Badin High School in Hamilton, Ohio for Head Coach Rick Kunkel. Named All-Conference for three years. Also named All-State in 2002 as well as Player-of-the-year.
