2008 Season
Even though he was hampered by a number of injuries during the 2008 season, Gottschall finished the campaign as the leading hitter on the team with a .330 batting average. He started 30 of the 34 games in which he played. On the season, Gottschall hit four homeruns while driving in 19 runs. His .495 slugging percentage was second on the team.Homered against Georgia State (Mar. 2), Northeastern (Mar.8), Eastern Illinois (Mar. 10), and Oakland (May 4). Had a season-high four hits, three RBI, and seven total bases vs. Northeastern (Mar.8).Also drove in three runs vs. Centenary (Apr. 25).

High School
Gottschallgraduated from O'Fallon High School in Illinois. At O'Fallon,he was 1st team ICA All-State, 2nd team All-Conference, 3rd Team All-Area, and Honorable Mention All-Metro.Gottschall attended Kaskaskia Community College where he was Freshman of the Year and as a sophomore was the team MVP and Offensive Player of the Year.

Personal
Chris is the son of Karen and Michael Gottschall (his father played volleyball at UCLA where he was a two-time National Champion). He has three brothers, Josh, Mikey and Matt, and two sisters, Alyson and Kelsey. Chris is majoring in Criminal Justice at IPFW.
