Alex Evenson Knocks Two Runs In Against Tennessee Tech

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - The Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons opened a three-game series at Tennessee Tech with a 13-4 loss on Friday (March 4).
The 'Dons went up 2-0 with a pair of runs in the first inning. Braedon Blackford singled in Jack Lang. Later, Alex Evenson used a sacrifice fly to score Garett Lake. It stayed a 2-0 lead until the third when the Golden Eagles tied the game.
The Mastodons came back to reclaim their advantage in the fourth inning. Evenson's run-scoring single highlighted an inning where Purdue Fort Wayne scored twice, which put the Mastodons ahead 4-2. The 'Dons were unable to hold the lead, as Tennessee Tech scored 11 times over the remaining five innings to grab the 13-4 win.
Blackford led the way offensively for the Mastodons, going 2-for-4 in the game with a double and an RBI. Evenson went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Lang also chipped in, going 2-for-4.
