Fort Wayne Men’s Soccer Adds 13 For 2018

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne men's soccer program has announced the commitment of 13 student-athletes for the 2018 season.
"This is one of the largest recruiting classes in the history of our program," Fort Wayne head coach Mike Harper said. "We are very excited to bring in so many talented players and overall great kids to our program. This class will add strength and depth to every position on the pitch for us."
Tor Erik Larsen (Aalesund, Norway/Fagerlia Videregaaende Skole)
Larsen (6-3, GK) was named Young Player of the Year in 2017 at Spjelkavik IL. He played in the second and third divisions in Norway. He helped Aalesunds U19 to a regional championship in 2015. In 2018, he went on preseason tour with Aalesunds fk.
Moses Akimana (Auckland, New Zealand/Rosmini College)
Akimana (6-0, D) played for Birkenhead United's first team squad in 2016 and 2017, winning the Chatham Cup in 2016. His teams were National U17 Champions in 2015 and 2016 as well as National U19 Runners-up in 2016.
James Lamb (Auckland, New Zealand/Auckland Grammar School)
Lamb (6-2, MF) helped his club to third at the New Zealand secondary school championships in 2016. He has represented the Auckland region from age 11 and was a member of the winning Weir Rose Bowl team. Lamb joined Auckland Grammar 1st XI in Year 10 and won MVP in 2017. He captained the Auckland School's knock out cup team. Lamb joined Eastern Suburbs National Youth League U20s as a 16 year old and played Eastern Suburbs senior men's team in the National Northern Regional competition.
Alex Frank (Hamilton, New Zealand/Hamilton Boys HS)
Frank (6-1, F) has played for Hamilton Wanderers AFC Lotto Italia NRFL and Hamilton Wanderers ISPS Premiership National Youth/Men's Team since 2016. His teams were Waiakto Knockout Champions and Regional Waikato Secondary High School Champions in 2014, 2016 and 2017. In 2017 he helped his team win the National Secondary Schools Champions.
Josh Garcia (Albuquerque, N.M./Cibola HS/Neosho County CC)
Garcia (5-8, MF) most recently played for Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas. He was named United Soccer Coaches All-Region and United Coaches First Team Academic All-American. At Cibola High School, he was named First Team All-State twice and Second Team All-State once.
Francesco Disaro (Milano, Italy/Pontificio Collegio Gallio)
Disaro (6-0, MF) guided Pontificio to a tournament berth.
Ryan Bernt (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek HS)
Bernt (5-9, F) was named an All-American in 2017. He was the Miami Valley Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year, Greater Western Ohio Conference National League East Division Player of the Year and East Division Athlete of the Year. He was named to the GWOC National League First Team, MVSSCA DIV 1 All Dayton South Recognition First Team, All-Dayton District Team and Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association State Team. He helped Beavercreek to a 2017 state championship. In the classroom he was an All-GWOC Academic selection and was an honor roll student.
Connor Carr (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll HS)
Carr (5-9, MF) was selected to the All-District Second Team in 2017. Carr was named to the honor roll four times. Both of his parents were student-athletes at IPFW in the 1990s. His father Andy played soccer and mother Cathy played volleyball.
Ben Grimes (Elizabeth, Ind./Corydon Central HS)
Grimes (5-10, MF) was named team MVP and All-Conference Honorable Mention as a senior. In the classroom, he was a member of the National Honor Society.
Josue Dubon (Jasper, Indiana/Jasper HS)
Dubon (5-5, F) was named All-State and All-District in 2017 and 2018. He finished his career at Jasper High School in the top 10 in program history in goals and assists. He also was the kicker on the football team.
Lefteri Fegaras (LaPorte, Ind./LaPorte HS)
Fegaras (5-7, F) scored 29 goals over his four years at LaPorte High School. As a senior in 2017, he recorded 17 goals and eight assists to pick up All-District Honors. He was named Academic All-State in 2016 and 2017. He had a 4.00 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society. Fegaras played club soccer for Junior Irish Soccer Club 2014-2017 and Three Lions United 2017-2018.
Daniel Donohue (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek HS)
Donohue (6-0, MF) helped Beavercreek High School to a state title in 2017 and three regional championships. He was a 2017 First-Team All-Area and First Team All-Conference selection. In 2016 he was named Special Mention All-Conference. Donohue was selected Academic All-State in 2017 thanks to a 3.80 GPA.
Micah Ketelhut (Portage, Mich./Heritage Christian Academy)
Ketelhut (6-2, MF) recorded 80 goals and 18 assists over his four-year prep career at Heritage Christian. He was a three-time team Offensive MVP pick and a three-year captain. As a senior, he was named All-District and First Team All-Conference. As a junior and sophomore he picked up All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades. Ketelhut was named to the high honor roll all four years.
The Mastodons will open the 2018 season in August.
