Harper Inks Four in 2012 Class

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – IPFW head men's soccer coach Mike Harper has signed four players to National Letters of Intent, the fifth-year coach announced Tuesday. Colson Wagoner, Tyler Secrist, Jose Rodriguez and Jackson Tooke will join the Mastodon roster in the fall of 2012.
Looking to replace five graduating seniors from last season's Summit League Tournament team, Harper added two midfielders, a forward and a defender to next year's squad, including a trio of Fort Wayne Fever teammates.

Jackson Tooke
North York, Ontario, Canada
Midfielder
Tooke, who hails from North York, Ontario, Canada, signed with IPFW after a four-year career at Don Mills Collegiate Institute. A midfielder, Tooke guided Don Mills Collegiate to semifinal appearances at the 2008 TCDSB Junior Tournament and 2009 Toronto Junior Championships. Named team captain of the ANB Academy Club, Tooke helped ANB capture the 2011 Foyle Cup and 2011 Keele Cup. He also competed in the SAAC Junior Showcase All-Star game in 2007 and was a U-14 Boys Provincial Alternate selection. In the classroom, Tooke is a fine student, where he earned a top 75% class standing.
Jose Rodriguez
Warsaw, Ind.
Midfielder
Rodriguez, a native of Warsaw, Ind., signed with IPFW after a four-year prep career playing for the Tigers. A three-time All-State selection, Rodriguez led Warsaw with 12 goals in 2011, leading to a 19-4-1 overall record. In four years, he guided Warsaw to four sectional and regional championships, earning back-to-back Final Four appearances in 2010 and 2011. Additionally, he holds the single-season assists record with 15, finishing his career with another school-record of 36 assists. In December, he competed in the High School All-American game in Birmingham, Ala., where he was named one of the team's top players by the coaching staff. Along with Secrist and Wagoner, Rodriguez played for the Fort Wayne Fever travel team.
Tyler Secrist
Waterloo, Ind.
Midfielder
Secrist, a four-year starter from Waterloo, Ind., signed with IPFW after a fine career at DeKalb High School. Starring at the midfielder position, Secrist was a three-time All-NHC and three-time KPC Media All-Area First Team recipient. He helped lead the Barons to a pair of sectional titles, while earning the title of team captain his junior and senior seasons. At the club level, Secrist competed for the Fort Wayne Fever, where he won the 2011 State Cup championship, and finished runner-up in 2010.
Colson Wagoner
Fort Wayne, Ind.
Defender
Wagoner, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., will join the Mastodon roster after a four-year career at Carroll High School. A four-year honor roll student and National Honors Society member, Wagoner was selected to the Indiana All-State Third Team, while earning spots on the All-NHC team three times and All-District team twice. Named team captain as a senior, he holds the Indiana state record for most points in a single season with 60, totaling 23 goals and 14 assists. He was a member of the Fort Wayne Fever travel club team.
