IPFW to Host the 5th Annual Women's Basketball Pink Out Event

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The women's basketball team will face Oral Roberts this Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Gates Sports Center. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the 5th Annual Pink Out Event to support breast cancer awareness.
The 5th Annual Pink Out Event is presented by the Lutheran Health Network Cancer Center. The day will begin with a pre-game luncheon at 11:30 a.m. in the International Ballroom, located in the Athletics Center on the IPFW campus. Alyssa Ivanson of WANE TV will host the luncheon that will be honoring breast cancer survivors. Those breast cancer survivors that pre-register receive free admission to the luncheon, the game, and will also receive a free gift!
Caregiver tickets to the luncheon and game are available for a reduced rate of $15 per person, and IPFW faculty/staff for $10 per person. Luncheon tickets for the general public are also available for $20 per person. $1 from every ticket sold will benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
$1 from every oil change performed at McMahon Tire and Car Care in Glenbrook Square Mall during the month of February will also be donated to the Very Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. The women's basketball team will wear special pink shoes during the contest courtesy of Fred Toenges Shoes. An on-court ceremony to honor breast cancer survivors will also take place during halftime of the game.
