ELMHURST, Ill. – Junior Amanda Hyde was recognized as the Player of the Week in the Summit League after averaging 27 points, six rebounds, 3.5 assists, and two steals per game last week in games at Indiana and at Southern Illinois. She shares this week's honor with Eilise O'Connor of Kansas City.
Hyde earns her first career Player of the Week award after scoring 43 points in a win at Southern Illinois last week. The 43 points placed her in a tie for second all-time in Summit League history, tied a school record and is the highest single-game total in NCAA Division I this season.
She was 16-of-26 from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range, and accounted for 55 percent of her team's points. She also added four assists and grabbed four rebounds in the win.
Earlier in the week, the junior guard had 11 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in a loss at Indiana. For the week, Hyde averaged 27 points, six rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals per game with a 3.5 assist/turnover ratio. She also shot 51 percent (21-of-41) from the field, 57 percent (4-of-7) from behind the arc and 88 percent (8-of-9) at the line.
O'Connor was named to the Air Force Classic All-Tournament Team last week after scoring a career-high 30 points to go along with seven assists in a win over Air Force. She followed that performance with a 23-point, 13 assist game vs. Boise State.
