
Paul Signs Three Student-Athletes for 2013

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Head Coach Chris Paul and the IPFW women's basketball coaching staff will add three student-athletes to the program in 2013 as Ariana Simmons, Rachel Rinehart, and Brett Green all signed National Letters of Intent to attend IPFW.
“We are very excited to have Ariana, Rachel, and Brett join our basketball program next season,” head coach Chris Paul explained. “All three are not only excellent players, but excellent people as well. They bring athleticism, speed, and the ability to play multiple positions on the floor. Also, with all three players being from the state of Indiana, it continues to establish our recruiting presence here in the state. I'm really looking forward to having them with us for years to come.”
Ariana Simmons
5-11, Forward
Fort Wayne, Ind. / Southside H.S.
Simmons is a local product from Fort Wayne, Ind. that averaged 14.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and two blocks per game as a Southside Archer during her junior season. She was recently selected to participate in the Hoosier Basketball Magazine North/South All-Star Game as she ended her junior year as a First Team All-SAC selection. Simmons was a 2012 All-Northeast Indiana First Team selection as well as a 2012 News Sentinel All-Area player. As a sophomore, Simmons helped her team win a section championship while being named First Team All-SAC. She was a 2011 IBCA All-State selection and All-Northeast Indiana honorable mention.
Rachel Rinehart
5-8, Guard
Angola, Ind. / Angola H.S.
Rinehart averaged 14.5 points, 5.8 assists and 5.8 steals per game as a junior at Angola H.S. This 2012 IBCA All-State selection was a team MVP and Hoosier Basketball Magazine All-State honorable mention. Rinehart was a NECC All-Conference selection as a sophomore as well as an All-Northeast Indiana Second Team selection. Rinehart has been a key contributor at Angola since she took the court as a freshman. She averaged 8.9 points, 4.0 assists and 4.0 steals on her way to becoming named Freshman of the Year in the NECC.
Brett Green
5-10, Forward
Camby, Ind. / Mooresville H.S.
Green averaged 10.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game during the 2011-12 basketball season playing for the Mooresville Pioneers. This two-year varsity starter led the team in rebounds last season and was a five-time Player of the Week selection. Green was recognized as a 2012 Mid-State All Conference Player, and a Hoosier Basketball Magazine Third Team All-State selection. She helped her team win two sectional championships as each team finished the year as regional runner ups. Green was also on the 2012 Indiana Class Basketball Junior All-Star team.
