In 1997 the IPFW Athletic Department decided to tap then Head Women's Volleyball Coach Tim Heffron to service the department's business needs. Since that time, Heffron has supervised all budget, accounting, travel, contracts purchasing and payroll activities of the department. Administratively, he assembles and completes many Federal and NCAA reports and audits as well as developing strategic plans for the department. Further, he serves the university on numerous committees such as the current chair of the $40 Million Gates Student Services Complex. From summer of 1993 to the spring of 2000, Heffron was the 5th Mastodons Head Women's Volleyball Coach where he compiled a 157-62 record (.72 winning percentage), 3 GLVC championships, 2 coach of the year awards, 1 All-American, and numerous All-Conference selections. Along with coaching he was a HPER Instructor for: Principles and Psychology of Coaching, Coaching Volleyball, Volleyball, Intermediate Volleyball, Intermediate Racquetball, and Golf. From the fall of 1991 to the summer of 1993, Heffron was the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach at St. Cloud State University. There he recruited and coached only 2 All-Americans SCSU had. A total 4 of his players still have the majority of the SCSU team records. While SCSU's 1990 record was 8-24, it was 24-12 in 1992. From the fall of 1986 to the spring of 1990, Heffron was a member of the IPFW Men's Volleyball Team. As a setter, he helped the program progress to its first regular season MIVA title in 1989. In 1991, he graduated from IPFW majoring in psychology and minoring in business. |
